What’s the Scoop?
Summer is here and with the rising temperatures come an influx of new creations to enjoy and events to partake in at Newtopia Cyder. Cyder Slushies are back, rumors surround the return of coveted limited batch cyders like Banana Applebum, and we officially opened our second tasting room in San Marcos in the Block C area. We also celebrated our first year of operation as San Diego’s first craft cyderhouse in April and have been busy bottling, canning, and collaborating as we head into our second year of cydermaking!
The newest tasting room in San Marcos is ready to give North County cyder fans the experience they’ve been waiting for: 14 rotating taps of craft cyder and an outdoor patio to people watch – what more could you want? Check out Newtopia’s little sister located in the heart of San Marcos in the Block C hub of restaurants, bars, and residential living. Check it out! Hours currently as follows: Monday-Wednesday 3-9pm, Thursday noon-10pm, Friday noon-11pm, Saturday 11am-11pm, Sunday 11am-9pm.
Our official San Marcos Grand Opening Bonanza was held August 25th and we couldn’t have asked for better support from the San Diego community.
Bottles and Cans
Shadowboxer: At 11.2%, this aged imperial cyder is a heavy hitter. Fermented with dry English cyder yeast and rested for 8 months in rum barrels from local spirit master,
Cutwater Spirits: Limited supply! ($40, 500ml bottle, available for purchase in both tasting rooms).
Yeezy Rider: A bourbon-barrel aged cyder sitting at a hefty 11.2% ABV, this imperial cyder is bursting with flavor from fermented apples, cinnamon, and lemon. Think caramel apple. Great for any whiskey lovers! ($45, 500ml bottle, available for purchase in both tasting rooms).
4-Pak Semi-Sweet: Hibiscus, local Scripps Ranch eucalyptus, mint sprig and apples together for a
botanical paradise, 5.8% ABV. ($25 per 4-pak of 16oz. cans, available for purchase in both tasting rooms).
4-Pak Fineapple: A sessionable 6.9% version of fan-favorite Belgian Pineapple. Featuring the cardamon, elderberry, Belgian saison yeast flavors to keep summer going all year long. ($25 per 4-pak of 16oz. cans, available for purchase in both tasting rooms).
Now available on draft and in a bottle: Setting Sun Sake and Newtopia Cyder Collab “Passage to Arcadia” : an 11.2% gin botanical infused sake and cyder blend.

Trivia Tuesdays:
Join us at the Scripps Ranch tasting room for a competition of brains and strategy with Sunset Trivia Company. Win prizes for free pints, tasters, and of course, bragging rights. Every Tuesday from 6:30pm to 8pm. Enchilamesta will be serving up tacos so you have the fuel to answer questions and beat out the competition. (No tickets necessary).
Third Thursdays:
Introducing Third Thursdays at Newtopia! On the third Thursday of every month this summer from 6-8pm, we will be hosting an art show featuring a different, rotating artist. Come and enjoy art, cyder, music and a cultural celebration. (No tickets necessary).
Hike 4 Beer:
For the remainder of summer, we will have select dates for trekking routes navigating adventurers through a maze of trails in Scripps Ranch and meeting back at Newtopia for a post-hike pint. Upcoming meetup spots and dates will be posted on social media. (No tickets necessary).
“Passage to Arcadia” Dinner + Bottle Release with Collab Guest, Setting Sun Sake (Sat, August 11, 6-8pm):
This 750 ml dual bottle release dinner will feature 2 collab bottles and an 8-course dinner pairing collaboration with Tyson from O’Brien’s Pub, Newtopia Cyder, Setting Sun Sake Brewing Co., Chef Sterlingoaks, and Chef Kim Roxas ( Ticket price varies: $65-$200. Barking Brigade with Ballast Point (Third Sunday of the month):
Walk your dog from Ballast Point Scripps Ranch to Newtopia Cyder and back, with beer, pizza, and treats along the way! $10 ticket includes a pint and two slices of pizza at Ballast Point, with additional beer and merch available for purchase at Newtopia Cyder. ( $10 tickets available on the Ballast Point website).
Barre+Brunch (1st Sunday of the Month, Quarterly,10am-1pm; psst. next one is Nov. 4th):
Get a workout in but don’t forget to replenish those calories with a pint and brunch! ( $20 for Barre class and Pint of Cyder, $30 Barre + Pint + Brunch, $15 for Brunch. Tickets available online at drinknewtopia.com under events).
Cheese + Cyder Pairing with Brothers Provisions (Sat., September 29th, 5-7pm):
Come join Newtopia as we marry the flavors of cheese and cyder in an exploratory, multi-course pairing event! (Tickets TBD, check our Facebook).

Samples of our Semi-Sweet and Belgian Pineapple will be pouring and you can pick up one of our 4-paks!
North Park Newtopia March (August 19th, meet @Coin-Op 1pm):
We will be heading to Coin-Op at 1pm on August 19th and taking a long walk around North Park hitting up all the great establishments that serve our cyder on tap including Blind Lady Ale House, Tiger Tiger, Hamilton’s and many more! Come join our staff for a casual get-together and support the great places that pour the best cyder in town.

Spanish Tempranillo grapes, plums, and boysenberries. - Rumor has it there’s also a cyder featuring the tropical guava fruit coupled
together with riesling grapes! - Threeway collaboration with Mostra Coffee, Latitude 33, and Newtopia for a
French saison graf cyder.
Tasting Room Eats
Every Friday and Sunday at Newtopia Cyder Scripps Ranch, The Carver, Coal, and Barrel will be serving up the best barbecue in town. Featuring tri-tip, pulled pork, and rotating specialty meats – this BBQ is a perfect pairing with our cyder. Try the pulled pork nachos with our India Pale Cyder for a culinary experience you won’t forget. Vegan or vegetarian? Don’t worry – they’ve got you covered, too! Delicious jackfruit “pulled pork” and sauteed vegetables are always an option.
On Saturdays, we will have a rotating food truck. You can check our food truck schedule by heading over to our Facebook page and clicking “Events”.
We also have small snack selection available for purchase in the tasting room – charcuterie trays provided by local purveyor Brothers Provisions.
